Company fails to fully train warehouse workers
Employee awarded lifetime disability pension

Nick Perry was injured in a workplace accident in 2001 when he was only 19 years old. While operating a forklift, his load shifted. He needed help to secure it before lowering it to the ground, but there was only one worker available. However, like Nick, he had received limited training.

Doctors told Nick he would never walk again. After three years of rigorous rehab, Nick defied his fate and is able to stand on his feet. Today he receives a disability pension and frequently speaks about employees feeling empowered to speak up about hazardous situations in the hopes of preventing future injuries and deaths.
