Multiple defendants forced to pay $9 million in damages
Charles Jones was assigned by Corestaff, a staffing agency, to work at Mill Corporation in North Philadelphia. While working in the warehsouse Mr. Jones was run over twice by a forklift operator who was a fulltime Mill Corporation employee. Following severe injuries and after multiple surgeries, Mr. Jones had to have his leg amputated below his knee.
The forklift driver admitted he was not trained or certified in industrial truck operation as required by OSHA 1910.178. He further admitted that his actions were inexcusable from a safety standpoint. Mr. Jones was awarded $9 million for his permanent injuries and anticipated lifelong pain and suffering.
