$90 Million Nuclear Verdict

In 2011, Dorothy Douglas, died at 87 years old from severe dehydration 19 days after she arrived at Heartland of Charleston, a Manor Care facility. The jury found that the facility was understaffed, had high turnover and inadequate training, which contributed to her death. This resulted in a $90 million wrongful death settlement.
